So, your husband-wife-sister-whoever doesn’t practice yoga… so what?

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic.  If you have experience or questions related to this video, please let me know!

Blessings.

  1. Hi Kelly, I found your yoga blog via your Facebook posts and thought I’d check it out as I’ve been meaning to pick up yoga again. I ‘ve practiced sporadically in the past, but quite regularly throughout my pregnancy with my son. Not only did I find it helpful physically, but it was also very calming. I actually think I was in better shape after he was born than I am now! I’m definitely going to block out some time for yoga soon, and I’d especially like to try out the spinal work you mentioned in an earlier video blog. My lower back has been bothering me lately, and my son isn’t getting any lighter! I just wanted to tell you that I think it is really nice of you to share your yoga and your time with everyone and I think this post about friends and family was very insightful. I love your positive outlook – it is refreshing and inspiring. Thank you for sharing!

    1. Blessings, dear Cathy,
I loved reading your comment– Thank you for writing! We are planning to start a family this year, and I hope yoga will be my faithful companion through the process. The lower back discomfort you wrote about is something I hear quite often from mamas– I think I will put together a little sequence for low backs! Thanks for the idea! Sending you all goodness.
      Namaste, Kelly

      1. A sequence for lower backs would be wonderful, Kelly! There seems to be a lot more about prenatal yoga out there (one post I remember reading was this one: http://elsieyogakula.wordpress.com/2009/04/10/empowering-your-prenatal-yoga-practice-advise-from-yogi-mama-to-new-yogi-mama/) than there is about specific problems that crop up after having a baby. I think, as you say, lots of mamas would appreciate a bit of lower back work (and shoulders too), and sequences that you can squeeze into short amounts of time. That’s very exciting about your family plans! I hope it all goes very smoothly for you – I’m certain that your yoga practice will help a lot with that on many levels, and after as well. A chilled out attitude definitely seems to help after the baby arrives… Good luck and thanks in advance if you do find time to put the sequence together!
